Your First Visit

HEALTH HISTORY

The first step for a new Chiropractic patient is filling-out a complete health history form. Old injuries, chronic problems, and present symptoms are recorded for the doctor to have a complete view of your health history.

CONSULTATIONS

After reviewing your health history, The doctor will meet with the you and discuss your health concerns to determine if chiropractic care can help you. The doctor will then ask you other pertinent information regarding your injuries and how they have affected your health and lifestyle. Once he is satisfied that he can heal you the doctor will then begin a thorough examination.

EXAM: Tests

During your exmination the doctor will take you through a series of physical examination tests including; a complete range of motion study, pertinent chiropractic, orthopedic and neurologic tests, as well as, any special test needed to make a thorough diagnosis of your condition.

EXAM: X-rays

X-rays of the spine are often needed to make a complete and thorough diagnosis. They are also used to rule out any underlying conditions that may be present. Since the spine works as a unit, full spinal x-rays are often taken. Following your x-rays the doctor will thoroughly evaluate them using instrumentation to measure spinal curvature and locate areas of possible disc injury, nerve impingment or any other imbalance that may be present.

We believe that you deserve individual attention to your particular condition and he will work with you to achieve your health related goals. If you have questions or comments, the members of our staff are always available to discuss these issues with you. We truly believe that the more you know about your condition the quicker you will heal and more likely you are to follow through with your care.

REPORT OF FINDINGS

After the doctor has reviewed your health history, examination and x-ray studies, he will meet with you again to give you a complete report of his findings. During your report the doctor will educate you on your condition and explain the treatment program he has outlined for you. He will also cover any other health recommendations needed to promote faster healing. The doctor will also explain the way your spine and nervous system work together so you understand the necessity of your treatment.

CHIROPRACTIC CORRECTION AND TREATMENT

The chiropractic adjustment is the means of care provided to help your condition and injuries. Your first adjustment will begin the restoration process of your spinal condition to its natural position. However, due injury and imbalance of the spinal musclules, ligaments and tendons, it will take time to strengthen the tissues and stabilize your condition. Most patients begin to see change in pain levels the first visit.
